Excerpts:
Albert Horner, a New Jersey native his entire life, has called Medford Lakes his home for the last 22 years. For the former army serviceman - turned sales representative for a large fishing tackle company based in North Carolina, the call of the outdoors has always been in his blood.
His primary objectives in this arena are twofold; to promote the stark beauty of this natural oasis, as well as garner public awareness regarding the current efforts by local organizations and businesses to potentially undermine the aesthetic magnificence of the Pinelands for personal, political and commercial gain.
“I think the best way people can get involved is to go out there and look at it, see it and enjoy it. People need to realize this is an once-in-a-lifetime deal and you’re not going to have this resource and if you don’t protect it. If you don’t learn to love it, you’re not going to care about it. When people get out there and appreciate it, they’ll see what they’ve got.”
