As 2017 Comes to a End - Don't Regret Travel

December 30, 2017  •  Leave a Comment

The month of December often serves as the time of year when we quietly reconcile, justify and account for choices made or ignored, acted upon or deferred over the preceding 12 months.

We sigh, “Oh well…another year in the books.  Another chapter gets written.”

As aging Baby Boomers, we are once again permanently reminded of how our decades of choices made with regard to; healthy lifestyles, personal relationships, and money saved versus money spent determines our so called ‘lot in life’ as we wait for the New Year to begin.  And how did we spend all those waking hours this past year?  That one unknown commodity that remains a constant X Factor for all of us is time.  How did we ‘choose’ to spend (or not spend) our time in 2017?

Regarding the above choices: Did we learn and grow or did we remain status quo and exist?  Did we stretch and risk or did we remain stuck in the mud and only ‘dream’ of something bigger and better?  Did we participate or did we watch?

And what about travel?

The items I mentioned above (money, time and health) all impact our ability, especially as we age to physically be able to travel.  Whether it is traveling to see aging parents, college friends, distant family members, let alone all the cool (gotta see these places before I die) destinations from our respective Travel Bucket Lists.

What will you do in the coming year?  And where will you go?

Wherever it is – Don’t regret travel!

Rediscover your inner travel child in 2018.

Experiences over Stuff!

Photo Backstory:  Bryce Canyon National Park (2015).  A family vacation found us in Las Vegas for the first time to celebrate my sister-in-law's 50th birthday and my niece's wedding! So what did my daughter and I decide to do with our down time? We decided to explore and photograph (4) National Parks; Bryce Canyon, Zion, Death Valley and Grand Canyon, located in Utah, California and Arizona respectively.  I would do it all over again in a New York minute!
