Days #1 & 2
Missed our flight. Marie buys another ‘hoodie’ before we arrive in South Carolina. Go Phils! Listening to the band here along the Grand Strand. Who’ll Stop This Rain? Penthouse ocean views. Will my bike ever arrive? Where are Fran and Kevin? Amazing dinner at iconic Sea Captain’s House (est. 1962) to conclude our travel day. No crying on travel transition day. Fond Myrtle memories of fam vacay with Laur & Hannah (aka Mac & Cheese) circa 2005 as well as legendary #cherokee5 Golf Junket @ “40” (2001). Now about that missed PHL flight…..but first pass me another Airbrush Hazy IPA. Did flight attendant say Montreal or Myrtle Beach? Love from Low Country. #liveyourdash
Days #3 & 4
Mother Nature remains fickle. Early morning rain means Plan B. No beach day. We head to Murrells Inlet ~ 20 miles south to explore and begin day drinking. First stop - Dead Dog Saloon. Patrons/tourists mail framed photos of their deceased doggies which are then displayed as tributes on the walls of this Intercoastal waterway bar. More drinks and live music at Wicked Tuna. Thankfully escaping the rains South Island. Dinner and drinks @ Flip Flops and then S&M Mini-Golf Championship at Aloha Mini Golf. Home of the South Carolina ‘Masters’ Championship. Yes….pro miniature golf players complete here for big money each November! Betting on Draft Kings ensues. There are nearly 50 mini-golf courses in SC! Aloha course record of 22 is still very much in tact after we finish. Rainbow appears over the ocean at dusk and beautiful sunset conclude Day #2. Friday night and the locals and tourists are ready to party! My bike rental finally arrived! Tomorrow is the Big Day! We finally golf…just kidding. It’s THE Main Event. Phyl & Antar say “I do!” Can’t wait to feel the love in South Carolina! Kevin and I hope to sneak in “18” just before the nuptials. Enjoying our short long weekend……#liveyourdash
