Cote d’ Azur (Shaken not Stirred)
Lauren and I spent a wonderful day in the South of France. This quaint destination served as a nice departure from our big city travel itinerary.
We began the day with a sunny morning drive up the coast to Monaco enjoying beautiful ocean vistas along with lightly colored pastel homes built into the hills. Our warmest day yet - mid 70s.
This stop was high on Lauren’s travel itinerary.
Talk about Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous…..
Even though we just missed the Monaco Yacht Show by 48 hours, there was plenty to gawk about in this sovereign city-state on the French Riviera.
My personal highlight was experiencing the Casino de Monte Carlo. While not a gambler, the Casino has appeared in numerous James Bond’s films. Pro tip: You need a passport to enter the Casino.
Lauren and I lunched at Cafe de Paris enjoying Mr. Bond’s signature Vesper Martini. This area is considered the prime location for the F1 Monaco Grand Prix not far from the famous “Hairpin Turn”.
We explored the nearby Yacht Club, famous FI “Hairpin Turn” located near the Fairmont Hotel, Prince’s Car Collection and King’s Palace. Even catching the Changing of the Guard at 3pm.
A beautiful day spent with beautiful people admiring beautiful things…..and then there was us….just an average dad and daughter from Jersey!
