Poconos Skiing
Escape to the Poconos!
This past weekend brought back decades of winter family fun and skiing memories (came flooding back) we made in this swatch of Pennsylvania known simply as the Poconos.
Started with Marie and I, driving up Rt 46 Friday night past Budd Lake, NJ. OG residence after I graduated Rutgers. We were twenty something married ‘kids’ in 1984. We skied up here all the time back-in-the-day. Pre-Lauren 1992.
Friday/Saturday - Games, laughter, cocktails and spirited conversations sitting around a cozy fireplace. Skiing/snowboarding fun with the kids at Shawnee Mountain. Forgot how much fun skiing is! Saturday night Pub style food and drinks down the road from the ski hill.
After Sunday breakfast, we enjoyed our first “Escape Room” experience. More fun than I expected. Been a few years since we all played in the Poconos. Absolutely loved the new ski gear from D&Q and Buckmans.
We gotta restart this winter tradition with the kids! #liveyourdash
PS Skied in my 5th decade (20s-60s). Already 4th decade for Lauren and Brian. Photos exist somewhere of four year old Lauren (wearing bright ski outfit) skiing Spring Mountain. Is that hill still even around?
