Amsterdam – Happy 750th Birthday
Enjoyed two days exploring Amsterdam before Tom and I began our 6-day Backroads cycling tour through the Netherlands and Belgium. Total12 days in Europe beginning in Amsterdam ending in Brussels.
Amsterdam highlights included: touring Anne Frank House, exploring Damrak Waterfront/Centraal Station, Dam Square, De Drie Fleschjes Pub (est. 1619), Cheese Shop Henri Wallig (est. 1974), traditional Netherlands meals (dinner) at The Pantry and Moeders, Manneken Pis Danmark (Belgian Fries), Pancakes Amsterdam (pancake breakfast), Canal Cruise, Stroopwafels and Snacks (Van Stapele, Loekmakerij), iconic Floating Flower Market, exploring Red Light District and Prostitution Museum, The Oude Church (De Oude Kerk) and drinks at Café Karpershoek (est. 1616).
