Last Swim, Last Sunrise, Last Call
Last night, Marie and I sat on the swings outside The Stoned Crab watching the sky turn cotton candy. Inside we enjoyed grilled lobster washed down with Gulywash and Painkillers.
As we reminiscenced about our amazing week in Grand Bahama, we realized our last Caribbean vacation were the ABC islands with Lauren in 2015.
Amazing how fast time moves; our daughter married, residence downsized, approaching retirement.
We recalled past Caribbean trips to the Caymans, SXM trip with Laur & Stef, our only cruise with friends celebrating wedding anniversary #15. We’re now approaching #41 this October.
We laughed. Clothing optional Beach in Tintamarre, America’s Cup in Sint Maarten, Pirate Booze Cruise in Antiqua, Knockout punch with the kids in Anguilla. So many islands experienced in our 30s and 40s.
Having gone other places and taken ‘different’ style vacations this past decade, I guess we had forgotten how special an island trip really is.
This needs to become a post-tax season tradition. Alfredo recommended Exuma or Bimini next high season? Whadda say, Marie?
I’m a believer! Sand, surf and sun can cure almost anything.
