Sydney: Days # 1 - 3You Should Be Dancing…..yeah!!! Grab your ‘Members Only’ jackets and sequin shirts. Join Lauren and I on a retro time trip back to the late 70s for a Cirque du Soleil style night of roller skating, aerial gymnastics and hula hoops to the disco/pop beats of The Trammps, Vicki Sue Robinson, Bee Gees, Gloria Gaynor and others celebrating I Love the Nightlife at the Boogie Wonderland (aka Studio 54) at Sydney’s famed Opera House! Let’s just say Laur and I had a blast walking through the daytime streets and Sydney Harbour area representing Tony Manero and my “Dancing Queen”. We had so much fun playing Halloween in December! “I heard somebody say….burn baby burn, disco inferno….down under.”#thisisus3060 #liveyourdash https://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/.../velvet-rewired.htmlBridge Climbs, Beach Walks & Pub CrawlsWakey. Wakey. Eat your breakie and join us for a sunrise Bridge Climb of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Cool altitude adjusted experience. We trekked up, across and down the metal skywalk tresses. Enjoying breathtaking views of the Harbour and CBD skyline at 134 metres in the sky. Lunched at the historic Australian Heritage Hotel one of the oldest pubs in the Rocks (district) watching cricket on the telly. Enjoyed schooners of Scharers Bavarian lager and the iconic Coat of Arms pizza which includes half emu and half kangaroo “toppings”. We spent the afternoon down on the famous Bondi Beach walking around the Cliff Walk watching the surfers catch the break. Enjoyed lunch at Speedos Cafe (est. 1928). While we packed our swimmies for the Bondi Icebergs Club (Infinity pool) it was tad bit cold for our liking. After our fun and games of Disco Night…..We enjoyed drinks at Maybe Sammy. Small cozy bar setting spinning eclectic tunes. Signature drinks honoring iconic women. I chose the Rum/Whisky infused Janis Joplin - Flower in the Sun. Lauren chose Natural Woman gin based spirit honoring the one and only Aretha Franklin. They must be doing something right as they’ve made Top 50 World Bars list since 2019. When traveling abroad…..build bridges not walls, walk on foreign beaches and always drink with locals at every opportunity. Enjoying our plonk!#thisisus3060 #liveyourdashBlue Mountain AdventureWe drove along the Great Western Highway to discover the designated UNESCO Heritage site - the Blue Mountains. While Mother Nature did not fully cooperate weather-wise, we still had an amazing day exploring this unique multi-faceted natural preserve. Starting at Scenic World we walked in silence along a wooden boardwalk through a rainforest (in the misting rain), rode the world’s steepest railway down and sky gondola over this amazing eco-system. We climbed the waterfalls at Katoomba Falls. Breathed in the eucalyptus enfused air viewing incredible valleys and vistas. When the clouds finally cleared we witnessed the beautiful vistas at Boar’s Head Lookout & Echo Point. In the afternoon we experienced the Featherdale Wildlife Park celebrating its 50th anniversary. We interacted with the Australian Unique Five; kangaroos, dingoes, koalas, wallabies and wombats. It was a “Steve Erwin” Great Adventure type of excursion. We enjoyed our time away from the CBD!Scott & Lauren #thisisus3060 #liveyourdash
